Many of us have faced interview but do we really know all the Etiquette of an interview ?? Common Interview Etiquette what does it mean? This is one of the biggest question among teenagers as well as the elder once too. Knowing the proper job interview Etiquette is an important part of a successful interview. We should be very concern about what we are wearing, the way of talking and posture of sitting, standing, walking etc. These etiquettes will surely make a huge difference between you and your competitors.

Rule #1 – What To Wear

While you are going for an interview you must be very careful with what you are wearing, It is highly recommended nowadays that you must come to the interview in a proper formal manner, which means if you are guy then have to put a formal shirt and pant with a pair of formal shoes. Sometimes it totally depends upon the type of industry you are going to apply but mostly it is found that the interviewer wishes you to see in formals, Try to avoid the casuals ones like the way you always use to carry in a restaurant or a normal day out. For Girls, you must wear a light weighted dress with a pair of formal shoes or sandals, try to avoid the peek heel one and try to wear very less makeup and jewelry. Don’t forget that you are going there to attend an interview, not a party So always try to choose the light color to wear.

Rule #2 – What to Bring

It is very important that you have to go with full preparation, Always carry extra copies of your resume and your photograph with a pen. It is also a Common Interview Etiquette that If you have any reference then always mention it, it considers your resume most and gives the privilege to be shortlisted. Avoid chew gum, a cup of coffee or any kind of soft drinks while going to a walk in interview.

Rule #3 – How your Resume should be

This also an important thing you should take care of it. First of all your resume should not be too long keep it as descriptive as required, a good resume is said to be of 2-3 pages. Don’t stuff your resume with fake qualification. Try to describe more about your qualification you actually have and about the experience if you have. There is no need to give a details information about your family background. You name, contact number and mail id is enough, further, if you are asked about your family background then you can share your details.

Rule #4 – How to Greet the Interviewer

Always Greet your Interviewer with a gentle smile on your face, Ask permission to sit then introduce yourself. Be alert and prepare for a small communication be don’t overdo it because it does not come under the Common Interview Etiquette. Try to follow your interviewer and let them lead the direction of the conversation. Sit properly try to lean down a little bit so that your interviewer get that you are interested and willing to get the job. The best way to answer any question is that listen carefully, take time but not more than 6-7 seconds then reply it. Do not try to drag the topic if you don’t have the answer, just simply clear it by saying that you have forget or don’t have the idea.

Rule #5 – How to Close an Interview

As like the intro, the ending of the interview is also very important. You always have to ask a question like what will be the next process of hiring? or  When did you expect to hear them again? these are the question lets your interviewer think that you are genuinely interested in the job and the job role and his company is a perfect match for yours which comes under the Common Interview Etiquette. At the end thank the interviewer for the time spent in interviewing with you and get out of that room by slowly closing the door do not rush while going out of the room or do not overexpress your emotions in front of your interviewer.
