148th Birth Anniversary of Dhundiraj Govind Phalke

Google with a doodle of famous chief Dhundiraj Govind Phalke (30 April 1870 – 16 February 1944), prominently known as Dadasaheb Phalke is commending his 148th birth commemoration today. Craftsman Aleesha Nandhra composed the doodle, which demonstrates a youthful Phalke approaching coordinating an initial couple of works of art of Indian silver screen. Dadasaheb Phalke Award

The Government of India in 1969 initiated in his respect Dadasaheb Phalke Award, for lifetime contribution to the silver screen. This award is one of the most eminent awards in Indian cinema and is the highest official gratitude for film personalities of our country. Phalke was also extremely influenced by the profession of painter Raja Ravi Varma and create stories from Indian culture to the silver screen. He made 95 motion pictures and 27 short movies in his profession spreading over 19 years, till 1937.A privileged honour from the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Mumbai was presented in the year 2001, for lifetime accomplishment in Indian silver screen.

The first award of Dadasaheb Phalke was given to artist Devika Rani, who was regarded as the 17th National Film Awards. Starting at 2017, there have been 49 awardees.
